Based on João Tordo’s “The Night Summer Ended”.
In the summer of 1987, during a family vacation in the Algarve, 13-year-old Pedro Taborda meets Laura Walsh, his first love. Ten years later, Laura’s father gets brutally murdered in a village in rural Czechia; the main suspect is Levi, the youngest daughter. Pedro, then a cinema student in Prague, gets involved in the case, rekindling the unfulfilled passion for Laura.
From love story to small-town murder, this series is an adaptation of the eponymous novel. Over 30 years, it will follow the emotional and explosive relationship between Pedro and Laura, as well as the strange, elusive characters of the village of Jihlava.
